During the Deadly Shadows era, certain glyphs begin misbehaving. Some merely alter their appearance, becoming new or unrelated glyphs, while others may harm the scribe who writes them. The severity may range from a chronic "woozy" feeling to injuries requiring immediate medical attention.[1][2]
The mutant glyphs are not made available for study, being either destroyed or locked away.[3][4] Despite their danger and increasing frequency, little else has been done to prevent these occurrences.[5]
Known Incidents[]
- The Diathemes Glyph was observed to be acting strangely.[6]
- The Trillogem Glyph has been causing trouble for scribes, probably by changing the meaning of texts.[7]
- Glyphs copied from Cepilon and the Aphorisms have been known to cause severe debilitating harm, despite the triviality of the texts.[8]
