Hello, taffers.
This March, I'm doing some long-overdue updates to the fan mission overviews for Thief: Deadly Shadows and The Dark Mod.
TDS fan mission documentation on the wiki has gotten fairly scarce and increasingly out of date, especially in more recent years. I felt this is the ideal time to catch up with all the FM developments for the game - particularly when we now have great improvements to the game thanks to the wonderful effort of the Sneaky Upgrade project team - and it's also useful and necessary to do this for archival purposes, particularly when it comes to screenshots or walkthroughs. It's better to have them on multiple websites (rather than just a single one, or at most, two).
The updates to The Dark Mod fan mission overviews will mostly be ported over from my work on the TDM FM overviews at The Dark Mod's official wiki.
I'd like to have both the official TDM wiki and the Thief wiki up to date on all the missions made for them so far. That's a fair few missions, over 200 in total for both games, but it is something that can be covered within a reasonable timeframe. The first phase of my effort is updating as many things as I can for the TDS FMs, and I'll then follow it up by finally creatring loads of new articles for the TDM missions. As the TDM mission articles will have a different internal structure than the articles for TDS missions (and the articles for the other two Thief games FMs), there won't be a real risk of confusing the missions from the two different games. (Additionally, since TDM as a freeware fan project has an identity of its own that's not strictly tied to the game trilogy, it will also help differentiate it in the minds of those who are still new to TDM missions and are just discovering what they're all about.)
I have less of an in-depth knowledge about the T1/TG fan missions, and though I am very familiar with many T2 fan missions, there are simply too many of them for me to cover at this point. Also, I'd prefer to collaborate on documenting these with other established people from the fandom and with the editors of this wiki, rather do it all on my own. Far too much work, and I prefer to get feedback from others, especially if I'm dealing with an area I'm less familiar with.
Wish me luck, feel free to provide feedback, have a good spring everyone. :-)
