A Large carniverous tree, possibly the Sycamore.
The Sycamores are trees,[1] and at least in Pagan controlled areas, are carnivorous plant life.[2][3]

In a Mechanist chant, referenced below, it says that after smiting an oxen, Karras smote a sycamore that came before him. If the tree was stationary, then Karras would have come upon it, not it coming to him. The Mechanists seem to be aware of moving, carnivorous plants.
