The Slow-Fall Potion reduces the effect of gravity and speed of the consumer. This both reduces or negates fall damage, and thus enabling the descend of large heights, and boosts the ability to jump more height albeit at a more slow pace but still enables the reaching of slightly higher places.

Tactical Information[]
The Slow-Fall Potion is mostly an alternative way to descend from high places, introduced in Thief II: The Metal Age. Once drank, the consumer becomes lighter and therefore falls and moves more slow. This allows a safer descend when Rope and Vine Arrows are not available. However, the consumer will move very slow, so it is not advised to use it when pursued or being fired at.
Care should be taken when descending from large heights as the potion only works for a brief amount of time. A careful judgement should be made as to when the potion is drank. Too soon, and it will take time to drop and fall damage will possibly be taken when it wears off too quick; too late and fall damage may be receive from the initial acceleration of the fall and as well as possible running slow after impact.
