The Practice Locks are four special locks found in Thief: Deadly Shadows that help Garrett hone his lock-picking skill. The Base Practice Lock is already installed on the back wall of the practice room of Garrett's apartment in South Quarter and the other three can be purchased from different equipment stores in The City. Each lock is more complex (has more rings) than the previous one. Once bought, these are instantly installed on the same wall as the Base Practice Lock.
The locks reset themselves automatically after they have been unlocked.

- As locks can be found in most (or all) missions, practice locks do not really provide any sort of benefit to the player and it is advised to spent money on something else.
