Morris was the head cook under the employment of Lord Ember Rutherford but secretly also aided his cousin Lord Julian Rutherford in gaining the Bloodline Opal. However, he was not loyal to either Ember or Julian, claiming he just wished for peace in the household.[1] He arranged to meet with Lord Julian, who was staying at the Blue Heron Inn. They met in the Lancaster Room.[2]
Morris was keen to avoid a battle over the Bloodline Opal and sugguested that Lord Julian could sneak in with his help and steal the Opal. When Garrett broke into the inn to get Lord Julian's Medallion, he overhead the plot and decided the plan was good enough for him. While Morris did promise to help Julian and give him access to the castle itself, he did not mention the new security added to the Rutherford Family vault, and noted in his diary that he would have told Julian more if he had treated him better.[3]
In "End of the Bloodline", he is shown to keep his word about opening the door when signaled, apparently unaware that Julian was detained.
