Lorna was the wife of Ashton. He was very abusive to her, so she began to feel an attraction to his boss, Giles. Giles was very sympathetic to her, and promised to run away with her when she divorced Ashton.[1][2]
Giles found that Lord Holanthrus was looking for a new librarian for his extensive book collection. Lorna was overjoyed at the opportunity at a new life. Giles planned to marry Lorna when they left the Gervaisius Estate, and hoped that with Ashtons promotion to head librarian would be his consolation for losing his wife.[3] Ashton heard about the affair (probably from the letter he found under her pillow),[4] and murdered Giles and his wife, and hid their bodies in a secret compartment in the library. Ashton left Lord Gervasius, saying that it, 'Held too many painful memories, then took the job with Lord Holanthrus.[5] Her soul did not stay at rest. She haunted the library, wandering around, moaning cryptic clues of her murder.
Hidden Remains of Lorna & Giles
She was finally able to find peace when Garrett solved the mystery of her and Giles' murder. In gratitude, she revealed the correspondence between Gervasius and Karras.
Sgt. Porter Investigated the disappearance, and concluded that the two ran off together. He did note however, that the library gave him creepy feelings.[6]
