Alyssa is a devout follower of the Hammerite faith. At the time when Garrett arrives in Fort Ironwood, she is mourning the loss of her brother, Alfred. In order to ensure his proper burial, she had concealed the fact that he was a Pagan.[1][2]
Her brother's burial had been postponed due to an outbreak of zombies in the graveyard, brought about by a shaman who had befriended him.[3] This became a growing concern for the Hammerites, as the body had not been enbalmed.[4]
