The Hammerite Guards are the main body of the Order of the Hammer and are encountered everywhere the Hammerites reside. They are brutal fighters and are quite vigilant and organized. The hammer they carry deals more damage than the Sword carried by most other opponents.
Strategy[]
Hammerite with and without facial hair.
The Hammer Guard is considered a top rank human warrior for a number of reasons. He has more hit points than the majority of human enemies, his attack speed is also faster, he is much more aware of his surroundings, and also tends to patrol and attack in groups.
It is important to be aware of their attack speed, as they can deliver two or three strikes in a matter of seconds, unlike regular guards that tend to hesitate before strike. For these reasons it is advisable, even on low difficulty levels, to avoid direct confrontations with the Hammerite Guards and attack them from a distance or from behind.
Thief: Deadly Shadows[]
These Hammerite Guards seem to act even more aggressively towards intruders. In addition they can be blessed by Hammerite Priests to become stronger and able to attack the Undead. Because of this, extra care needs to be taken when guards and priests appear together.

Notes[]
- Hammerite warriors are unique in that they can kill Zombies (except for their Mechanist counterpart),[1] and it seems that the Warhammer (and possibly other destructive blunt weapons) can cause permanent damage to the Undead. The only place where the Hammerite Guard and zombies meet, however, is in Cragscleft Prison (the upper mines) and St. Edgar's Church (the Hammer Factory).
