The fern is a plant introduced in T2. It appears to be a type of bracken and is coveted by those of the nobility who have pride in their gardens.[1] Although not seen growing wild, it is supposedly native to Pagan forests, in such areas as Beck o' the Wills.[2] Ferns are commonly kept indoors, in small terra cotta pots, and watered regularly.

Although it is not clear why, the import of ferns and similar plants to The City is illegal under Truart law. Jabril, a dealer in plants, made a great profit by smuggling in ferns and selling them to wealthy nobles.[3]
