The Tears of Saint Lucia, released on the 21st of October 2008, was the second publicly released demonstration level released for The Dark Mod, showcasing some of the classic Thief-like gameplay in Doom 3 engine.
Summary[]
It was originally created by The Dark Mod contributor jdude, with assistance from Fidcal (mapping) and Springheel (story). It can be installed as a stand-alone mod in Doom 3, and works in Windows and Linux versions (though Linux users may need to install an additional dynamic library and will need to recompile the map).
This standalone demo has since been reworked heavily into the regular The Dark Mod fan mission, The Tears of Saint Lucia, the second mission in the (currently) two-part official introductory campaign of The Dark Mod (full title Mission 2: The Tears of Saint Lucia). If you're going to play The Dark Mod nowadays, please play the latest version of the mission, instead of installing the demo. This article on the initial demo is included here on the wiki for archival purposes.
The latest version of the mission now comes pre-packaged with the base install of TDM (as it's part of the official campaign), so you don't need to download it at all once you have the game installed.
