Cutty was a fence and close associate of Garrett. He was a reliable fence for Garrett and provided him with new opportunities for work as it was him who suggested Garrett go after Lord Bafford's scepter and told him of a better way to gain access to Bafford's Manor.

Around the time Garrett went after the scepter, Cutty was arrested by the Hammers and incarcerated in Cragscleft Prison, block 4 cell 6, and was sentenced to daily palm scalding. Garrett had no choice but to rescue him, especially since he owned him money for the Bafford job.

Garrett was able to locate Cutty in his cell, but he died shortly after in his cell, due to the damp conditions, but not before sending Garrett after Felix, who was after the Horn of Quintus and redirected him to Felix's Notes in the evidence box.
