The Compendium of Reproach was an ancient tome that outwardly appeared like a thick, golden slab and was sealed with Glyph magic so that it only be opened with the Glyph Key. Despite looking like it was made of gold, the book appeared to be indestructible.[1]
History[]
The Compendium was lost well over a decade before the events of Thief: Deadly Shadows[2]; the Glyph Key was lost around the same time. Keeper Rafe knew it was important to the three ages and wanted to search for it and the Glyph Key, but the Keeper Council denied his request for a team to assist with locating it.[3] It later turned out that Captain Robert Moira had discovered it in a secluded cave and brought it back to his seaside mansion in order to study it further.
The tome was eventually retrieved by Garrett and given to Interpreter Caduca.[4]

The Compendium contained foreknowledge of the events to come during the prophesied Dark Age, including the "stopping of time" that would "point out the evil ones", and was an integral part of Gamall's plan to destroy the Final Glyph, as she believed the tome featured information on the 'failsafe'.[5]
