The Bloody Ears Tavern is the modest dockside tavern owned by 'Blind' Billy. It is a place where sailors, guards, criminals and other seedy folks meet in the Docks. It has two stories, the upper floor providing accommodation to mariners on shore leave. A large furnace heats the entire building. For a brief few days the tavern overlooks the haunted vessel known as the Abysmal Gale.
When Garrett first enters the Tavern, 'Blind' Billy is complaining to a patron about the poor conditions of the Docks district. He claims that the city watch guards tend to turn a blind eye towards tragedies happening and that sometimes the guards even need to be bribed in order to get things done for the locals. He also recounts how the tavern had been visited by an old lady asking about The Abysmal Gale: how it got its name and how did it row into port by itself. He did find her suspicious and reported the encounter to the guards, but nothing came out of it.
Various Notes[]
- A note from Brother Constance to Brother Vault regarding the Pagan Sapling can be found on a small side table.[1]
- On the only table in the public bar is a copy of The City Chronicle detailing the events around the Abysmal Gale.[2]
Side Quest[]
A Pagan Sapling can be found in the Docks and the Pagans want it to be planted in the ground of the Pagan Sanctuary around the docks and the Hammerites want it burned.[3][1] The furnace in the docks can be used to burn the sapling to gain Faction Status with the Hammers.
At some point after the events in Of Brethren... and Betrayers a man named Derk killed someone in the The Bloody Ears Tavern's first floor and needs to cover the incident up. Derk leaves a note in front of Ramien's Fence Store, in Old Quarter, asking for Ramien to get someone to dump the corpse in the sea, without being noticed by anyone, as well as to clean up the pool of blood from upstairs as part of the cover-up. If the incident is done properly, without witnesses, Derk will leave a reward in the box outside of Ramien's. Otherwise, Derk will simply leave a note telling Ramien that he's a dead man for not getting the job done right.
